The lawyer is an independent professional whose fees are freely set with their client. It is often difficult to determine in advance what the cost of a case will be, as many elements regarding its course are unknown. Your lawyer must submit to you, before any intervention, a fee agreement.
The criteria for setting a lawyer's fees are related to the difficulty of the case, the time spent on your file, the lawyer's specialization or reputation, as well as the expenses they incur.
In general, Me MEAUDE's firm charges a flat-rate fee
In this case, a flat-fee remuneration is agreed upon to handle your case.
A contingency fee may also be set
It can only be complementary to a minimum fee (flat-rate or time-based) defined with your lawyer. Depending on the outcome of your case, additional remuneration may thus be agreed upon.

In addition to the fees, you may be required to pay your lawyer other expenses that are not directly included in their remuneration:
- The regulated fees due for certain appearances of a lawyer before a court; ;
- The advocacy fee allocated to lawyers for each judicial decision rendered, whether through oral argument or filing of case files before most jurisdictions; ;
- Disbursements and operating expenses, which represent the sums of money advanced by the firm on behalf of its client (bailiff fees, for example).
